What do I pay for?

As I keep paying for Xbox Live I start to wonder what exactly am I paying for? So far I can't figure it out. I mean if I pay to play on ea and other servers what is microsoft providing me that is so appealing. I am genuinely becoming disheartened with sub-par customer service and horrid server response. I just called xbox support to find out why a points card I have isn't working. I get were sorry but because everyone else is doing it we have a problem. Call back later and we can try and diagonse your problem than. I mean the servers suck again right now because M$ can't handle the increased capacity of this download, oh btw the servers just went under maintenance three days ago, so obviously they saw this coming.  As I grow more pissed off with microsoft my want of a ps3 grows expotnenially.  I have always been a sony fanboy, but I even thought they fucked up with the ps3, now as I keep looking at this its not like microsoft is doing that much better. I despise the flagship game(HALO) for microsoft, and In all honesty start to question my purchase more and more as time passes. I still can't justify a ps3 purchase but a year ago I would of said fuck the ps3 and sony, now I merely have a distaste for sony and honest hatred of shitty customer service.

Look there will always be fanboys on both sides and I don't think sony is perfect by far. But my having to ask the question what am I paying for is really starting to bother me. Considering I can't figure it out right now.

I honestly want to know what gripes people have right now and what people think they are paying for?

As usual, I am gramatically challenged if it sounds like a fifth grader wrote this well sadly they didn't I did. Some of you may tend to believe I am mentally a fifth grader, while others will understand full well what I am talking about.

I understand your pain. However if you have not yet had the chance to game on the PSN you're not missing much. As much as I despise paying for LIVE it's worth every penny to be able to communicate in every game every single time.

Despise Halo 3? Not much "despising" going on when you've got 1000/1000 achievement points, is there? :D I agree, though, about paying for LIVE. It doesn't seem right a lot of times, namely when you have to restart a CoD match because the game has to find a new host, etc. Sometimes it seems like you're paying $50 a year just for a (limited) list of friends.

I am an achievement whore. I haven't played halo 3 since january, I believe, so despise is an appropriate term. I don't think either system has it gotten totally correct but it gets tougher to justify 50 dollars for 100 friends, and a strict enforcement of achivement point cheaters lol.
