Well I went to the Dr the other day and he put me on two more medications to take, one for my blood sugar because I'm a type 2 diabetic and the other for my blood pressure. His office called me yesterday on the results of some blood work I had done of the weekend also and now I have to take something for my cholesterol. Now more and more I wish I wouldn't have let myself get in bad of shape that I am.It scares the hell out of me knowing that my heart could be a time bomb waiting to go off.Nothing scares me more than death, I don't like to talk about or even think about it.But with all of these new health problems coming up for me it puts those thoughts right back in my head.I don't have a primary care physician and now I have to find one to help get my health back under control. The other Dr I was seeing, is like a ER doctor but they have their own clinic you can goto and be seen if your regular Dr is unavailable.Plus the fact they don't make visits to the hospital if you wind up there some how.

So I vowed to take some of my income tax return and buy some exercise equipment and get myself back into shape.I used to weigh in at 175 lbs when I was in the Army. And when I got out I let myself go thinking I was invincible, that I could drop the weight whenever I wanted to.Unfortunately as much as I tried over the past few years I just couldn't get myself motivated enough to do it.My parents, my brothers, my friends, and my wife has told me repeatedly that I was putting myself at risk and I needed to do something about fast. But as hard headed as I am I didn't listen to reason from none of them. Each day that I don't lose weight the closer I am of dieing of a heart attack.I have started changing my eating habits, and wearing heavier boots to work to help force me to work harder to lose the excise weight. No one ever thought that wearing a pair of heavy boots would help you lose weight but they will.

On average a normal pair of shoes won't weigh in over a pound and they give you free movement of your legs and feet.Where as steel toe boots varies on weight due to type and manufacturer; weigh you down a little bit and you have to use more muscle to lift your leg to walk.I know this sounds a little crazy but when I was in basic and I know there are a few members who went through Basic Training. Can tell you this but we had to run everywhere we went when we where alone on post.If we weren't in formation and being marched somewhere we ran.I can remember every stinking day I had to run somewhere in basic, it helped me build up my stamina and made my legs stronger. It also helped me lose weight faster than what I was supposed to in basic.I went from 180 to 160 in about 3 weeks. That type for weight loss is not good for the body believe me, I never felt so run down some days in my life. But I did what I had to do get into shape so I wouldn't have to listen to the Drill Sargent's call me a fat body any more.

Well I'm sure everyone is tired of reading my boring ass for now so I will stop here and go to bed its 2:16 cst so everyone enjoy their Saturday.....

I cut out beer and I have lost 23 pounds in 13 weeks. Nice and slow, just like the doc told me. It was all for the same reasons you stated above- cholesterol, fear of heart disease and diabetes, etc. Hardest part for me was cutting back on my portions of food. I used to eat until I was full, and I make myself eat just one plate and wait. I won't be hungry later, but I'm not feeling full when I go to bed. Works, and I haven't had to give up any of the food I love, I just don't get as much of it. Hang in there, bro. It'll happen for you.
