Anyone know how to deal with tree roots that have broke through the ground without killing the tree?I don't want to hire a professional if I can avoid it.I'm hoping to be able to do it myself if I can.

I thought of digging around the roots and seeing if I could just rebury the damn things and get away with that.If it helps I can take pictures of my future yard to be.Just waiting to hear back on the offer we recently made on a house. The yard is huge but tree roots are practically everywhere you go.

Any thoughts on how to go about taking care of this would be greatly appreciated.

My in-laws have the same problem. They haven't found a solution yet.

Tree roots come to the surface usually because the underlying soil isn't rich enough. If the surrounding landscape allows, throw a few yards of soil around the exposed roots, then be sure to fertilize the tree using a hose and stake style implement.
