Once again the weather got just a little nasty for us down here in the South. Its all good now, this is one thing about liveing where I do that I hate. When we get storms we get STORMS.We can never get just regular T-Storms, we get the ones that could produce Tornados in the blink of an eye.I could really do with them, my kids go crazy when they hear the sirens go off.I then have to go into super dad mode.Storms cannot hurt none of us with me around, I know how to protect them all from every type of harm.I dont dare show them how scared I am of the storm, for they are scared enough.I dont dare let them see me paceing back and forth watching the tv or stepping on the front porch watching the storm.I always tell them everything is going to be all right, when in truth I dont know if it is.I keep telling them jokes to take thier minds off the storm and to ease my mind.

I survived one tornado I can survive another, and so can they.............

Ive seen some of those Tornados on tv before and they can be devastating. I will admit that youre a braver man than me living in a place like you do but I suppose at the same time youre kinda use to them to an extent. Good luck with the weather season and heres hoping no harm comes to you and yours.

I feel for ya I live in Bartlesville, OK its about 50 miles N of tulsa. Weve gotten so much rain in the last 3 weeks its unreal, needed but still a whole frikkin lot. The one thing I cant understand in my +25 years of living here is that there are so few basements built into the houses. My wife is from Kansas and every one of her relatives from there have basements built into their houses! Her parents dont understand it either and they have lived here for 10 years, they say its a common thing to have a basement or at least a cellar to go to. Youd think itd be the same way here. Thats what scares me the most my house doesnt have an interior room, if a tornado came through Id have to stuff my boy into the hall closet and ride it out myself.

Ive been thru a couple of tornadoes myself. my wife gets pissed at me because i wont hunker down in the stairwell with her. she puts the kids and the dog in a closet then curls up on the stairs. Meanwhile, Im up looking out the windows or on the back deck looking for the twister. she dosnt get that.
