I mean, how better to feel like you are in a rock band to trow out $100 bucks on a guitar and then another 20 on a kick ass song list? Especially when you get one of the deffective guitars! Go me.
I've found that the wammy bar in question is mildly annoying. It does not function as one would think. As in you would press down on said wammy bar in a comfortable position following the line in which it was meant to wammy. No, I have to hold it in a perpendicular position to the wammy motion to apply said wammy goodness. Which can be annoying when flying through a song like Stutter or Hush or Thunder Horse and you are trying to eek out every possible point from the song.
Now I'm not complaining too loudly about this defect, I've had to adjust my play style that I developed from Guitar Hero on the PS2 when my brother brought it over. And I'm a bass guitarist by trade, so all these notes and off beat solo stretches are keeping me thinking pretty fast. I have noticed after a session of GH, after the cramping stops, that my fingers mover up and down the bass guitar faster, making it easier to play a Chili Peppers song, Flea is a mad man.
I do wish they'd let you play the other guitar parts in career mode, like the bass and rhythm guitar. I know it's probably super easy to enable that, so why not make it some kind of unlockable feature, the Bass line of "Message in a Bottle" is one of my favorites, and the one on "Thunder Horse" will make you wish you had the powers of The Flash just to keep up. Love it.
I also felt really cool walking out of the Wal-Mart with my Guitar Hero box, past all the rednecks and jealous kids who couldn't convince their parents to fork over the $100 to buy the game.
Also, first journal. HUZZAH!
