Best.Holiday.Ever

Halloween is fast approaching and I must say that it is my favorite holiday of the bunch. Why? You don't get the day off and there's no big fancy all-the-family-together dinner. Yes, there are parties and trick or treating but these aren't the reasons. This is the time of year when every TV station airs a gizillion horror movies from good to bad and new to old. Now I know these days with DVDs and PPV you can watch just about any movie whenever you want, but Halloween brings me back to when I was a kid. Scouring the TV guide to see what movies were being shown, what time, had I seen it before, could I talk my mom into letting me stay up that late. I lived for this stuff. The rest of the year you couldn't keep me in the house. Too many trees to climb, frogs to catch, forest to explore, and too much swimming to do. But the couple of weeks before Halloween I wouldn't go out for love or money. Supper, chores and then camping out in front of the tube. On Halloween night me and my buds would go out and I would come home with 2 or 3 pillowcases full of junk( ah, the good old days of no paranoia and no political correctness) and then movie marathon time. I mean how could ya not get into this:
