I picked them up at their mother's around lunchtime and luckily plenty of parking was still available when we got there. The kids got their all-you-can-ride bracelets and off they went. This was the ride of the day for them...
...and they came back here quite a few times. After a couple of hours of walking and riding, walking and riding, we took in a magic show which wasn't too bad. Killed some time and got us out of the sun for a while.
Back to the rides for a bit and then some dinner. We found a booth that did several different varieties of poutine. Mine was fries, salsa, hot peppers, jalapenos, jack cheese. The kids both had the cardiac special. Fries, gravy, mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, and bacon. For the non-Canadians unfamiliar with poutine, take all the ingredients and mixed them together in a bowl. Mmmmm.
With stomachs all nice and full, rides didn't seem quite as appealling now so we headed for the sports pavilion. There were rollerblading and karate demos but the kids headed straight for the Nintendo area.
This is one picture I couldn't resist. One of the karate kids on one of the DS's
It was getting close to 7 o'clock so we headed over to the main stage area for the concert. One of the Olympic mascots was working the crowd when an opening band was doing a sound check. For some reason my daughter thinks this is absolutely hilarious.

Well, two local bands played and then Default. They did some songs off of their new album coming out later this year. A good time was had, we found the car and got home at the stroke of midnight. Long day indeed. I'm getting too old for this. Maybe next time I'll rent an electric wheelchair for the day.
