The morning after the night before

The title doesn't really mean anything just couldn't thing of any thing relevant to put down. Anyhoo, last night's concert was a success in my son's eyes. I know he had a good time cause he keeps saying "what?" in a really raspy voice. The whole concert thing was getting wacky there for a while. When I first found out I won I thought 'great, tickets but no car'. I had plenty of offers to buy them from some of the guys at work but I said ' no, I plan on giving to my kids'. So I called the ex to see if she could pick them up a day early and then drop them off at the arena on the way home, picking them up after. That turned into a nogo. She could drop them off put wouldn't be able to pick them up. They are only 14 and 15 so public transit at that time of night was not really an option. Then I learned about the meet and greet so now I was really gonna have to find a vehicle to borrow. Enter sis. Normally she's pretty busy with her daughter in dance and her son playing hockey but as chance would have it no hockey and my niece was having a sleepover. So, she was going to be home all  night corralling a house full of 5 yr old broadway hopefuls so sure, I could have the van.

I figured the ex wasn't going to say anything to the kids about the tickets so as to not dissapoint them. When she showed up Friday night with them I asked if she told them ( I figured this would make for a great surprise ) and she said "Ya, just that afternoon". Uh-oh, this would also mean she told them about not being able to take them. Well it turns out my daughter didn't feel like going ( she's more into hard rock- three days grace, thornley, zeppelin, aerosmith ). My son then proceeded to run through every possible scenario to make this happen. Mom---Sorry, but no. I told him not to worry, I had come up with a ride. But what about the extra ticket? He hopped on the computer, changed his messenger header to read "who wants to meet Billy Talent". Needless to say, my computer then lit up with a christmas tree with messages coming in left, right and centre ( he has  97 names on his contact list ). He finally narrowed it down to Clara and arranged a place to meet before and after the concert.

My daughter and I now had to decide on a movie to go to. We chose Children of Men. I would recommend this all. It's very gritty and very surreal at times. Thought provoking and leaves no emotion untouched.

To my extended American family who want a Wii, Jim Carrey's upcoming movie, The Number 23, has a giveaway going right now. Details here - http://www.whatdoes23mean.com/ . And in case you haven't seen the preview,
