I Dislike The Beach

I know.  Most people like coming to the beach.  It just isn't my thing.  My parents retired down here several years ago and it is a really cheap vacation but I just don't like it.  Too much sand and way too hot for me.  I did take my dad and boys to a Charleston Riverdogs baseball game last night.  That was a lot of fun.  We are leaving in the morning so I just have to make it through the day.  While everybody else is playing Shadowrun tonight, I am stuck at the beach.  This sucks.

Dude...I'm one of the few who totally agree with you on the beach thing....you forgot to mention the sharks and jellyfish though....

A buddy of mine were having the exact opposite conversation last night. We both hate the mountains. I went to Charleston and loved it, but I know if something isn't your thing... Sorry about that, have you tried hanging out around King St. instead of the beach? And I think the Spoletto festival is still going on.

Well that is certainly a very rare feeling. Is it because of the beaches down there? Have you been to the Carribean?

Much more enjoyable in the fall and winter. Been going since a little kid. Just not my thing. Give me the mountains any day. Carribean..... don't want to spend that kind of money to not enjoy myself.

As a redhead, I also hate the beach. I have memories of my brother and I playing in the sand...my mother had dressed us in long-sleeved t-shirts and long pants and big-brimmed hats. And we'd still get blistering sunburn somehow.
