Tecnical Question About Netflix
Okay, probably not technical but for me it is. I have been thinking about Netflix. the idea of streaming movies straight to the Xbox interests me. I amafraid that my wife will want to move the extra 360 to the tv she watches and start streaming movies to watch while I am playing on my 360. Will this cause problems to me while I am playing? Will I notice a lot of lag? I don't have the fastest connection as it is.

Yes, potentially. I don't know how much bandwidth it takes to stream netflix but the latest inside xbox video was using up to 5 Mbps for the forza motorsport one. Now in contrast, i hoped into a Section 8 demo and it was receiving only 16Kbps . So video by far is more of a bandwidth sucker than games unless you're hosting, then games can suck the bandwidth as well.\r

What you want to do if you start to get lag is get a router that lets you prioritize your traffic. So you can set your xbox to highest priority and then everyting else a lesser priority and you shouldn't experience any lag.
I wasn't sure what internet speed I had so I ran some tests and called my provider, Embarq. turns out I am running 3 Mb/s download and I am getting about .65 Mb/s up. Is this okay for gaming. I am just wondering if I moved to the next package (5 Mb/s) would it help my gaming? Now I am more concerned with whether I have enough speed to game than I am streaming Netflix.
You have plenty of gaming bandwidth but streaming video... not so much. How does that Forza inside xbox video play for you? It was sucking down 5Mbps which is 2 more than you've got total. Wondering if it runs ok on your system or if it does down rez and reduces the quality based on your speed.\r

So ya, you don't want to share gaming and netflix streaming on that 3Mb connection, you'd want to up to the 5 and get a router that does QoS like the Dlink DGL-4500\r
