Verizon is the Devil

I hate Verizon.  Unfortunately, they are the only carrier worth having in my neck of the woods.  A week ago, I got two new phones from them and renewed my contract for two more years.  At the time, the salesman said he was changing my plan.  He said the name was changing but everything was the same.  Didn't cost any more, everything was the same.  At the time, he gave me a free month of internet and gps navigator.  I said no and he said try it for a month and just call if you don't like it and I will turn it off.  I try it for a week and browsing the internet on a cell phone sucks.  I was going to go by yesterday and have it turned off so I didn't forget.  About that time I get a text message that says my bill is available to look at online and it is $50 more than it should have been.  So I go in to turn things off and ask about my bill.  It turns out that the new plan is different.  The internet is not free either.  Every 4 pages that I looked at on the internet is $2.  I asked how that is.  Another salesman said that with the new plan, when you browse for ringtones or use the internet, there is a charge.  I explained that the salesman had told me it was free.  Is answer, it is free unless you use it.  WTF?!?!?!  We never could come to an agreement.  He said all I could do was call customer service and see what they said.  I am pissed.  This is crap.  If I hadn't just renewed my contract, I would be done with them.  I plan on calling later today but I doubt anything is going to be fixed.  Anybody else have any interesting stories about their cell providers?

I hear you...and I'm worse than you with Verizon. They have my home phone, internet, television, AND cell phones! I'm so tied to the hip to them I wouldn't survive a separation at this point. :(

call customer service and be as nice as you can to the operator. Explain how you think you were deliberately missinformed and want restitution. I find that the nicer I am on the phone with CS, the better things work out for me. Verizon is trying to merge with Alltel. If they do, they have to sell all of their assets in a few states, including mine, MT. I hope Sprint buys it so we can have some competition.
