What Is The Best Computer Game Of All Time?

I have never really played games on computers. I am looking for a single player game that I can play when I am away from the 360. Don't want anything that requires internet.  The only game I ever really played on the computer was Duke Nukem. I am not really looking for a shooter here. That is what the 360 is for. Maybe a rpg. Don't know, never really played any. Just something that doesn't require me to memorize a million different keys and what they do. One of my students mentioned Diablo II. Never heard of it. It can be new or it can be old. So computer players, what should it be?

American McGee's Alice in Wonderland. I like this game due to the fact it has been out there for awhile graphics are all right and gives you that bio-shock feeling, but a little less scary

Try World of Warcraft. I've heard a few people find it enjoyable.

He said no internet. WoW doesn't have any offline features that I'm aware of. I would try one of the Command and Conquer games. Such as Red Alert. Red Alert 2 or Tiburium wars. It does online play but there is also a single player mode. Not much of story, but it usually a challenge.

diablo 2 should be some mindless fun hack and slash dungeon crawling. Starcraft is a fun RTS game, with a ton of character to it :)

Keep them coming. Anybody know anything about Age of Empires or Civilization?

Civilization won game of the year. It isn't bad. You can be diplomatic or warmonger, research upgrades and the like. Age of Empires isn't bad either, you have to research and build, kind of like a better Command and Conquer set in older times. Age of Empires is a real time strategy while Civilization is a turn based game. Out of the two I would recommend Civilization. @ ATC, I was just being a smartass about WoW, and I also didn't catch the no internet part.

Civilization rocks....CIV IV is truly great, but for some reason, I still like Civ III better, not sure why...not any easier, just simpler feeling I guess....too much going on graphics wise in Civ IV for me I guess...I'd definitely give Civ a try if I were you dude, you can find the ultimate Civilization packs, with all 4 iterations of the game and their expansions for around $50 or $60 I think. If you end up playing it and need help or tips, let me know.
