Who Here Owns An AR 15?

I have been wanting an AR for many years now.  I really don't need one.  I just like shooting them.  They are fun to shoot.  With the upcoming election, there is that possibility that I might not be able to go purchase one any time I want to in the very near future.  Here is my problem, I have the money to buy one but it would be stretching things  little bit.  Ammo is outrageous right now so I really can't afford to shoot it like I would like.  The one positive thing is I would be able to turn a bit of a profit if I ever decide I need the money.  I need to make up my mind before the election because if Obama wins, the next day, they are going to start becoming real hard to get hold of.  Obama has already said that he will get rid of them.  Not sure what to do.

Thus why I got my little WASR10. But I would suggest getting one. You'll probably have plenty of time to get one, since I'm sure it takes a while to get bills passed. So go ahead and start saving now.

that bill would never pass, it can't, there are too many lobyists fight it, too many vocal citizens against it...and it's dangerous ground to directly attack an ammendment like that.

Well not if the Dems win a HUGE majority. I mean imagine a Republican being lobbied by the Muslim Coalition Regarding Jihad Against Other Non-Muslims... MCRJAONM....never heard of them? Me neither. And for the record...I think I'm a Democrat...but I love muh guns....typical Arky huh?

from my experiences there is no such thing as a typical Arky.

Ha ha ha... I don't even know you yet I feel the hate brewing! But one good thing is that we don't have to register firearms 'round these here parts. I can sell my ole' rifle to ole' Cledus down the road yonder there.

Am I not mistaken but was there not a ban on assault rifles under Clinton? They won't be banned the day after if he wins but people will be rushing out to get them before they get banned.

Don't worry about me, I have more then my share of firearms...and yes, here in PA I know 2 people named Cledus...I had a class of 10 people in elementary school...3 of whom dropped out before finishing 6th grade...and I know far too many people who fly confederate flags at their houses or on their trucks....I know 2 people from Arkansas, one's a doctor the other sells pies along the side of the interstate....like I said, no such thing as a typical Arky....all are the same when they stand at the end of my BR.

Northern aggression Automan? Whatever happen to the city of brotherly love?! Wouldn't you like to spit some snuff in that dude's eye and shoot 'im with your ole' .45? Oh and check you out some ICP man...maybe Fuck Your Rebel Flag? Awesomeness at it finestest. Yes there was a ban I do believe, but mostly for cosmetic reasons..."if it looks like one it must be one!" But that has since passed and was not renewed. But I will be bulking up on ammo for my GUN COLLECTION...never armory.

"H2Daddy says: Am I not mistaken but was there not a ban on assault rifles under Clinton? They won't be banned the day after if he wins but people will be rushing out to get them before they get banned." It was a very soft ban. All you had to do was get an FFL and a background check to buy one. The "ban" mainly made it more inconvenient and costly to get one...two things which I'm not quite sure I don't agree with. BTW, I'm a Democrat-leaning Independent, and I own guns for both sport and protection.

Don't get me wrong, I am a hunter before anything. Grew up hunting. Only recently have I decided to get an AR. Will probably use it to hunt coyotes. Main reason I want it is they are just fun to shoot. I am no gun nut. No rebel flags even though the high school I teach at has the Rebels as their mascot. I shoot .22s as often as I can. I am a normal person. I guess that is why I am bothered by a ban. Criminals don't spend a $1000 on a gun to hold up a convenient store. Normal people like myself are the only people that will be affected.

the clinton ban banned the manufacture of certain firearms, not the sale or ownership of them. I was thinking too, H2, your instructor has dropped the ball so to speak when it comes to your class. Anyone in a clas that makes it to the firing line and tries to load the ammo backwards should be taken off of the line for basic hadling first. Also, at least in our state, the CCW allows us to purchase any firearm without the National (so-called) Instant Check since the number on our permit is a NIC number. Not a big deal, just some info.
