This Years Christmas Tree

I grew up with a real tree.  Several years ago, my wife decided she wanted a fake tree with the lights already on it.  Did that for several years.  Two years ago, she wanted a real tree again.  (Starting to see a pattern here)  This year she just wanted to get a little tree.  Last Christmas Santa brought the boys an air hockey table and it sits where the tree use to sit.  She covered the air hockey table and went out and found a small 4' tree for $10.  Instead of digging out all the ornaments and decoratons, the boys made ornaments this year.  Saved me a trip into the closet from hell under the steps.  Most people would look at our tree this year and laugh but I love this tree.  My dad carves us stuff each year for Christmas.  We won't be seeing them this year at Christmas since we went to Disney with them so they mailed it to us.  Perfect.  Dad carved us a folksy creche  for the tree and a couple of Santas made out of clothespins.  Excuse some of the pictures.  Wife has a little trouble sometimes.

Tree looks great. I must say your dad is really good at carving, wish I had talent like that. From the looks of things, your boys might follow in his creative footsteps. Nice work guys!

Yeah, beats the crap out of the old one. Plus, I am here to help everyone get into the mood for Christmas. My wife has been asking me what I wanted for Christmas. I told her Santa's little helper in the picture but for some reason, she isn't talking to me now. Wait a minute, that's a pretty good present in its self. :)

Home made ornaments rock. Plus it keeps the kids busy for awhile. That's what kept my 2 boys quiet for a couple of hours this weekend! :)
