The Old School Gaming Event Was A Blast!!

The gaming event has come to a close; there were a total of 7 participants. We played in two groups’ round robin style with a championship game for each video game title. I finished 5th overall after 16 hrs (Sat 12:00N - Sun 4:00AM) of solid play... my god... None of us are as young as we used to be that’s for sure, 16 hours was nothing when you were 12 yrs old. This was about our age when most of the titles we played came out. I guess the abundance of alcohol didn't help the situation or the next morning for that matter lol.

In summary I did the best in NBA JAM on the Genesis and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 on N64 I placed second in both.

My most surprising finish was 4th in Smash Brothers on Gamecube it was a close battle for 3rd only being knocked out of the map in the finals game by mere fractions of a second before the 3rd place player was also knocked out of the map. (Never owned the game or system the only time I played growing up was when I would visit my friends lol they are really really good)

The most up-setting finish was 7th in Tecmo Super Bowl played on the original Nintendo, I played Tecmo on Super Nintendo before, but not regular Nintendo, which control wise isn't any different then the SNES version but the teams were way different. My tactics from SNES did not apply to the NES version due to the Cowboys apparently blowing complete ass in the NES version compared to the SNES version... (I got screwed, it would of been nice for them to tell me that the Cowboys sucked. I just figured my friends were just plain better.) I didn't lose by anymore then 3 points in all of my games with by far the worst team in the game. But my friends were very impressed by my performance. (I am an Emmitt Smith Fan lol)

Biggest mistake in the tournament was playing Halo 1 at the end of the night, we were all tired and drunk as skunks and was a big mistake. We also played a condensed version of the original plan. The original plan was to do multiple rounds (15) of FFA, and multiple rounds (10) of Team Games. We only managed 3 rounds of FFA and 2 rounds of Team Play. I placed 3rd in that game. (Which was another disappointment since when we were younger I would own everybody lol)

For food we ordered this insane pizza called the Centurion, This thing was so frigg'n huge that you have to tilt the box sideways just to get it through the front door... here is a picture with a regular frozen pizza sitting next to it.

The box itself on edge stood from the floor up past my nut sack, and I am 5' 11''.

It was a great weekend.
