Most of you would have read the title and screamed "Blasphemy!!" but if you read on you will see there are many a valid reason for Epic games to release Gears of War 3 on the PS3.

Firstly, by releasing the game on a second platform you are guaranteed an increase in sales, it's simple logic, the more people you offer your game experience to, the more people will be able to buy into that game experience, being exclusive to the Xbox 360, has certainly worked for EPIC games, they make a great cash return on every title released due to huge sales, but there's no denying that if the game was available on the PS3 it would make even more money for EPIC games, remember this is business.

Secondly, the PS3 has a lot to offer EPIC games in terms of technical power, so they can really achieve their intentions, goals and dreams with the series. Looking at the visuals of Gears of War 2, and comparing them to Gears of War 1, you can be forgiven for thinking they are the same game, the difference really isn't much, although fanboys would love to spin it in a way that suggests it is. If however they utilise the PS3's capabilities we can really see a Gears of War that rivals games like Killzone 2, and Uncharted 2 in sheer technical brilliance and physics.

Thirdly, with the Blu-Ray disc, there is no doubt EPIC games would have less constraints on what they can offer the player, larger levels, better sound, more content in every area of the game, it would be a real shame for Gears of War 3 to launch on the Xbox 360's DVD9 disc, and due to size constraints become a shadow of the game EPIC would have wanted it to be. Think about it.

In conclusion, I think EPIC games would be doing a major service to themselves and games alike if they choose to develop GeOW3 for the PS3, and a major disservice to gamers if they don't, no one wants a gimped game that is a shadow of the game it could have been. Gears of War 2 is a strong sign that the series is faltering due to constraints and poor execution.

I could care less If they release it for the PS3. I can't see how that would be an issue for anyone? It's a game. It's not like we are selling weapons technology to our worst enemy or something. I happen to own an xbox, and so long as it is released on the xbox, I will probably get it. I like the first 2 games, They are fun to play, and I look forward to playing GOW3. That's good news for those who only own a PS3, and want to play GOW though.

Cost of development is 1 reason it wont happen. Microsoft won't let it happen, is another. Epic prefers PC & 360 development.....because they are pretty much the same. While it would be cool for PS3 owners to get a taste of the Gears....most people who really wanna play Gears have 360's and copies of the game already. Real gamers play what they wanna play....on whatever console its available on.

Gatsu, you are not completely correct. Gears is made on the Unreal engine. UT3 came out on the PS3 to show off the engine and it MUCH better than the 360 port. Since the engine is already on the PS3 it wouldn't take much in development to bring Gears to the PS3. So technically it is possible. However, unlike UT3, Microsoft is the publisher for Gears so it won't happen on the PS3.
