Frontlines vs Bad Company

I just picked up Frontlines: Fuel of War on a recommendation from someone on this site.  I really must say, the multiplayer is very impressive.  I still think Bad Company is my favorite multiplayer game, but Frontlines does have some things it does better.  It has much better squad functions, so you aren't just randomly assigned to a squad.  You can actually apply to a squad and ensure you are playing with your buddies.  Also, the maps are much larger.  This is good because some games can be as big as 50 people, where Bad Company only allows up to 24 people on the same game and has much smaller maps.  Another neat thing about Frontlines is the loadouts.  I wouldn't say they are better than any options in Bad Company, but I have found that I really like being a drone technician, which is not an option in Bad Company.  Also a mixed bag is the vehicles.  In Bad Company, you get one helicopter per team, but on some maps in Frontlines, you can have a small air force going with helis and jets.  I think the balance in Bad Company is good and it makes the helicopter more important.  In Frontlines, the helicoptors require less skill to use and make little difference in the outcome of the game (the jets on the other hand, are very tough to pilot successfully).  A complaint about both is that neither game lets you speak to the entire team, you are pretty much forced to speak with your squad only.

Bad Company does beat Frontlines in graphics and in that it is easier to learn.  Also, though neither game has a really compelling solo mode, I like Bad Company's better.  I think it has better characters.  Another thing I like about Bad Company is the destructibility.  You can destroy most everything.  Basically the only thing you can't take out are some interior walls on buildings.  It makes sniping and hiding much more difficult and you are really never truly safe.  I think that adds a lot of depth to the game.  Both games have their merits, and I think they will both be heavily in my game rotation for the forseeable future.  If only we could merge them both into a single spectacular game...
