Extra Life 2013 - I could use the community's help

I'm on a mission to use my passion for games to help our children and I could use your support.

On November 2nd, 2013, I along with thousands of gamers around the world will take our passion for gaming (video games, board games, tabletop RPGs, etc.) and utilize it to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network of hospitals and research institutes. Every year CMN Hospitals and research centers treat millions of children around the world, regardless of their family's ability to pay. We're talking about children with cancer, cystic fibrosis, severe injuries, as well as any number of other ailments and conditions that have become a part of their reality. I myself have chosen to allot all the money I raise to the Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland.

For over 100 years the Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland has served the needs of not just the SF Bay Area, but all of California. It is the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma center in Northern California. It is where the current worldwide protocols for the treatment of sickle cell anemia and cerebral palsy were developed. It is also the home of the Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute, which has the distinction of being one of the United States top pediatric research institutes in terms of NIH grant funding that is not affiliated with a university. It has done and continues to do so much for the care of children of all ages. If my passion for gaming, with your support, can be used in any way to help them in this endeavor then I feel that to not do so would be unjust.

I know that with our economy the way it is right now, the thought of donating money to this effort, or any charitable effort, may seem like a luxury that you might not be able to afford. I truly understand and I would not ask if I didn't feel that this wasn't an organization truly deserving of our support. Any money you can pledge would be greatly appreciated and humbly accepted, and in case you were wondering, your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.

Last year, Extra Life raised more than 2 million dollars to save kids, but in 2013 our goals, just like the needs of the kids we serve, are much, much higher. I can't do this without your help.
