Gaming Update

Let's see...I haven't posted a blog in ages so and since I don't feel like working at the moment I figured it was a win/win. In recent news I changed my Live Tag back to Vengeful Vicar.  Also I have been playing Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.  I loved the cartoon as a kid and I can still remember seeing the animated movie in the theatre so while the new transformer movies have been ok they never brought the magic back for me.  The movie games even less so.

Still that being said I really enjoyed FoC. It had a lot of sequences that reminded me of the G1 series and animated movie that brought the game to life for me.  I started the Campaign on hard wanting to get all the completion achievements right off.  I will say while challenging I didn't have a lot of issues with it till the final battle and even that only took me five tries. Even that could of been made easier if I had spent money wiser on a couple perks.  While I have not fully played through multiplayer yet the little I have played of Escalation (Horde Style) has only been mildly entertaining.  I found myself joining one game on the last wave which was beaten and I got the achievement for it which I thought was slightly bogus.  The system of money is something I normally enjoy (GoW3 Horde), but in Escalation it seemed more a side thought thrown in. The balance of what you earn vs working towards opening new areas and getting upgrades seems off.  Even though I had top kills in most games I played I always seemed broke...now wether or not that was due ill teamwork with randoms I can't be sure, but I think the earning/cost ratio needs to be addressed.

The only other game I have really immersed myself in lately has been Reach.  I have joined the community the last couple weeks in the Thursday Halo night and had a blast.  Though I freely admit to sucking...bad.  I guess two years of not playing reach at all rusted any halo skills I had completely shut, but I can honestly say I once was a semi decent player.  I came across a saved film in the theatre from 2010 of a team sniper match where my team quit in the first 30 seconds and I still won it 29-11.  Now I couldn't snipe a target 10ft away if it just stood there and laughed at me.  Still I have enjoyed the games and exploring the new (to me at least) maps and have even played some on the weekends.

With FoC done I may try for one more playthough of B-lands before 2 comes out in a few weeks so if anyone else has the same idea feel free to hit me up.
