Are you a Gamer with Kids?

As a thirty-something year old gamer, with 3 young kids. I find it hard to find the time to get in my fix for playing games. I usually wait until everyone, including Wifey, are off to bed. Then I'll sit down for an hour or so and play whatever game it may be that night. And with the holiday onslaught of games headed our way, I'm never going to get to play through all of the games I'm interested in. I am just curious as to the gaming "habits" of the community members who are in similair situations. Now I'm not saying I would trade in one of my kids for a few more hours per week of gaming. Or am I??? I just think it's an interesting discussion. (If you don't, please don't bother replying.) Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

As a secondary topic of discussion, does your Spouse/Significant other normally play games with you or are they in another room watching Dancing with the Stars or re-runs of Bonanza?

See. The RROD is not always a bad thing. BTW Samurai, I just read your "Moment of Zen" post. Amazing! I have never heard that put any better. Cheers!

And remember...they will grow up before you know it, can you imagine what games await you in 10 years? My b/f of five years bought me my first xbox, (I was one of those moms that thought gaming was evil), then he bought me my 360 when those came out... We lived 5 hours apart so it was a way we could enjoy spending time together. Unfortunately he broke up with me when I started playing more Carcassonne than Halo.

My wife plays Viva Pinata: TIP & UNO on her own 360 or she is in the other room watching some gossip show or things of that nature.

The wife and I always play together....and the "kids"(aka; our 2 Cats) love to watch...with our youngest scrambling to try to catch anything that moves on the screen.

Get divorced. I have the kids 50/50, so when they are not at my place I game a lot more.

That's great. I wish I could get my wife more into games. We played Castle Crashers together and had a blast. But that's a rare scenario.

I game when the baby is in bed. Sean (my husband) is on the computer. BUT we have date nights: no gaming on friday nights... usually Saturday nights too.

The kids were starting to hog the 360 and I, like you, could only get in an hour or two late at night. Then the 360 RROD'd. I was able to convince my wife we needed a new 360 (got the arcade) for the kids. Then I replaced the dead 360 with a new Elite for me. My wife and I like to play Rock Band a couple nights a week.
