Date night!

J-Cat

YAY! Friday is date night at the J-cat household! My husband comes home, we take care of Erica, and the minute she is down, I have a shower and get dressed up! Totally dressed up: from head to adorable little toes! (Side note: I love my feet, go on take a look at your own. They are like little hands, but all wierd looking. Sometimes I just look at them and giggle. And no I have never been high)

So after I get all tarted up, I go down to the family room, where Sean has ordered a whole spread of my favorite Chinese food, a bottle of wine and we hang out together an watch a movie. Or game together.  Point is, I believe that it's important when you have wee ones to still find time for each other. I also love getting pretty. During the week, it's no makeup and hair in a mommy-pony tail. But Friday night is my one night to go through the fantastic feminine ritual that is getting dressed up. It's like a balm to the soul!

So: tonight I think we are renting a movie: any suggestions?  We like action, and thrillers. Lately we saw Batman Begins, 300, Ocean's 11 and Snakes on a Plane (not as funny or tounge in cheek as I would have liked).  Before this date night we never watched movies, so we are far behind.  Anyway: what would you recommend?

Have a great weekend!

Mr. Brooks we just watched...very suspensful. I know there are a slew more, but sadly I can't remember the names of them. You're right, it is very important to have hubby and wife time. I'd go nuts without it. Although I get a sitter and make hubby take me out. Being a stay-at-hom mommy really makes you appreciate those "dates". Have a good weekend! :)

I just saw "The Descent" the other day. Not a bad scary movie, plus the women (all the main characters are female) get to kick some serious butt. Also, if you've never seen the "Jeepers Creepers" movies, they weren't too bad either. You are right, managing to take some time for yourselves is key. We have only been out to see four or five movies since our oldest was born 8 years ago! Now, we are moving closer to family so maybe there will be more babysitting available! One can dream......

Have you watched the Bourne movies? Ultimatum isn't out on DVD yet--it's the best of the 3. If you don't mind going back a bunch of years, you might enjoy The Long Kiss Goodbye.
