I've been growing out my hair, trying toget rid of my blonde. Lo and Behold I finally went for a haircut and they were able to keep my length but get rid of the blonde. It has to do with layering, very complex ;-) Anyway, I'm now sorta a brunette. It's exactly the same colour as Erica, so if you can see her hair colour in the above pics, then you see what I mean. To me it's drastic, it's like I coloured the whole thing. Big change, I've bene various states of blonde since high school, so for like 5 years (cough, cough)
I had an amazing birthday; I love going to the spa, I am so relaxed after it's almost like being a bit tipsy. My husband got me an amazing gift. It's a (get this) hot drink maker. Basically you put water and hot chocolate mix in this thing and it makes hot frothy hot chocolate. Why is it such a great gift? Cause I'm a hot choc addict, and htis justifies my addiction! YAY my husband is my enabler! Since I had Erica, I've been a bit nutbar for me hot choc! This thing also makes cafe lattes, cappucinos (although not the real thing) things like that. He also went to some she-she (chi-chi? shee-shee? shi-shi)... OK FANCY place to get a ton of hot chocolates. yummy!
EDIT: I forgot (cause I'm a bad Mommy) what Erica bought me! It's a picture of herself with my old Pooh Bear (had him since I was 1 month old) and the frame also holds a mold of her foot! very cute.
What else. We are taking another shot at sleep training Erica. She was going through the night (sorta) then slid back. Well my husband is upstairs, trying to get her down. This time I fed her, then my husband took her for a walk around the house. The walk is their thing, he takes her upstairs and says goodnight to everything with her. Hopefully this will work. I read that since I've been feeding her right before she goes down that she associates sleeping with eating, even though much of the time she is awake when I put her down. So when she wakes up at night (like we all do) she can't put her self back down without a snack. Hopefully this will break her of the habit. Cross your fingers. She's 10 months old, it's time!
EDIT: Jsut checked on the man and the wee girl. She's down, it only took 25 mintues tongiht! w00t
It's just a bit sad. I was always the one to put her to bed, now that part of my life is over, time to begin a new phase with her I suppose. I bought how to take care of your toddler books today. My baby girl is almost gone... But they are actually a lot more fun as they get older, aren' t they? Now you teach her stuff, and it sticks. you can see that she has actual desires other than jsut food, or comfort. We've taught her "the Wheels on the Bus." . She can't do the motions for the wheels part, but she can for the Wipers (wipers go swish, swish, swish,in case you forgot). Funny thing is, whenever she sees a wheel, she wavers her arm like the wipers. Really cute. She's trying to communicate, which is amazing. "Hey, check it out! there is a WHEEL!"
What's it for me: time for Katamari!
