First of the Season

It's stew time!  I am making the first beef stew of the season. I love beef stew: it's in the oven right now and I am getting so hungry. Usual stew stuff (beef, potatoes, carrots, turnip), in red wine and... chocolate!! Yep: I put cocoa in my beef stew... yummie.  The oddest one I made had beef with orange juice and white wine. That was tasty. Different but tasty.

It's been a while since I've blogged or gamed.  I am getting quite domestic; I have taken up knititng of all things. My grandmother knit my daughter some amazing baby blankets. Well I should mention that Grandma is a knitter extraordanaire. She's made some of the most intricate sweaters, blankets etc. over the years.  When I was in Saskatchewan visiting her, my daughter was fussing. My Mom picked her up and my daughter grabbed the afghan behind her, buried her face into it and fell asleep. That was how we figured out my daughter was attached to her blankies.  Grandma  knit her a square for her to have on the plane and gave me a quick lesson. Once home I went to Walmart, grabbed some needles and yarn and made a scarf for my Grandmother. Now I'm making a baby blanket for my friend Jen in Germany. She's due in Feb. Hopefully it will be done for then.  It's really a calming hobby. I also feed good because I feel like I'm carrying on the female tradition of our family.

I've joined a new clan! Curmudgen Grudge: for parents who don't have alot of organized time for gaming. That's me. I am quite excited. I have never been into FPS games, but I would like to try.  I am going to ask my husband to rent me R6V on the way home from work. So after Survivor I may give it a whirl.

Boring, domestic blog. But hey, no drama is good.

Oh: just my two cents about Halo 3. Whenever I read "Master Chief" I think "Master Chef". I picture the Swedish chef: bjork, bjork, bjork. And that makes me laugh

When the boys turned one we started to give each other one night off a week. It is nonnegotiable! from 6pm fri till 11am sat i am a free man my wife has the same deal on sat. while it was hard at first it has become a much cherished break.

I love the fall and winter but not for stew. I want chili. I would love to try some stew recipes if you don't mind sharing.

Welcome to the grudge J-Cat!! That's too funny about the Swedish Chef - we just saw "Muppets in 3-D" at Disney World and he was part of the show - it was great, I wish they would bring that show back!!!
