Okay... broken is a big term. Satellite rado antenna is either busted, or not hooked up properly. Fuck me.
The rest of the car is great... but now what? obviously... it's gonna get fixed. But, I am going to have to take time off work to get down there to get this fixed. It's a total inconvenience. It also makes me question... what else is wrong? To the guys and gals who are in the business... who is in charge of making sure this sort of stuff works? I know they do a safety check... this may not have been part of that.
What do you guys think I should do in this situation? I already left a VM with my sales guy. He's not going to be in until tomorrow at the earliest. See: there is no point in gettting REALLY mad... fuck ups happen and really... it's only sat. radio. It's not like the car is actually broken.
Here's my thing. They are probably going to try throwing in a few oil changes or something. What else can I get? I want new winter tires.... maybe I can get those at discount? Maybe accessories or something? ALSO: I saw, but don't have on me, the checklist for the PID (safety inspection) that they have to do on every car. IF "check the audiosystem" is part of that checklist... and the audio system doesn't work... do you guys think that it means that the rest of the car was not safety checked? If this is the case: heads are going to roll. (i.e. I am going to have that $ back and I am going to make them do the safety inspection over again). But between us, I can't see that happening. These inspections are gov't regulated, and the dealership is big enough to comply.
Whatever advice you can give is appreciated.
BUT: on a great note: love the car. LOVE the car. It's a Rondo... 7 seater lux edition. Sean convinced me to spend the extra cash and go for the super nice interior. The idea with our cars is that we plan to have them for like 10 years and run them into the ground. This one is a V6 and DAY-um she moves! Granted... not a sportscar or anything like that: but the Rondo is a perfect car if you have a family. Unless you have 3 kids, it's all you will need.... forget getting a mini-van... this car is much better. Excellent safety ratings. Fun to drive. I had my old one for 2.5 years before the accident and I just loved driving it.
And the OTHER reason why I am not going to get mad. Today I recieved an invitation to a very high class shin-dig. Erica's Birthday is tomorrow! Her grandparents and auntie are coming in and we are going to have a "buggy party". Sometime I will write down the story I told (and re-told, and re-told) about Erica and the Buggy-Party. I will recap the proceedings later.
Anyway: I hope you all had a happy new years. And was I the only one who got misty when Dick Clark kissed his wife at the ball drop? Gets me every year.
