W00t: I jsut got permission to take another 6months mat leave! That means I go back to work after Canada Day (July 1st). I am relieved, I couldn't face going back in only  3 months. Not only is it so soon, but it will be the middle of winter, and working in the winter in Ottawa sucks huge.  It is cold, but that's not what gets ya: it's the wet. Gimmie -35 in Saskatchewan with it's dry cold any day over -5 in Ottawa where you are soaking wet just by stepping outdoors.

I have a question for everyone. Once I'm back at work, I won't be able to access 2o2p from the office. The feds have a firewall aginst things like porn and gaming. Does the public sector allow you to access this website? Do you check 2o2p from work?

I work with scientists, some of whom are toxicologists. When the firewall first went up it blocked anything that mention "sex". As in "the sex of the white rats were male.".  It didn't go over very well.  Also we are a group of proffessionals, most people have at the very least a Bachelors of Science, losts have post grad.  They were upset because they felt like "the man" didn't trust them. I understand it though. The Canadian public doesn't pay  for my bandwidth so I can hang out with you guys!

So what is your feeling about webbernet access at work?

I access this from work everyday as you can tell. If it does ban you which would be funny. As long as you are doing some type of work and get at least one thing accomplished I think everyone should have internet except for really stupid people who are assholes about it. Have fun on Mat Leave.

Now that work has internet, I check it at work. Of course, I'm probably the only one at work that can turn on a computer, so they can't stop me.

I work for a company with only about 15 employees and their not strict. In fact, I'm typing this during my lunch break.
