Holiday!

Yes, I booked a holiday today. The ladies and I were supposed to go to a spa (hot baths, massage, port and chocolate: the whole nine yards) Yet: here I am blogging. Why do you ask? Erica is very sick: she has major snot and eye boogers. Can't go to daycare like that. What is worse is she is not napping very well lately. She asked to go to bed (this is the time when she would be napping at daycare) and I can hear her upstairs playing with her turtle. Her turtle is a crib toy: you put it on the crib and it plays music.

This is the big debate in the house. Some days I am "this" close to throwing it out. All she does is play with it instead of nap. BUT my husbands thing is it probably helps her to calm down. My buddy agrees with his take as well. But I just want to go upstairs and say "sweetie: go the eff to sleep.. You need it.". Yesterday she only napped for an hour. The day before no nap. She is under two. I mean I know some kids outgrow naps early: but I don't think this is her. It can't be. She is just too young. She has to get more sleep! Maybe keep her up later at night?

Okay : now she is actually singing to the music... I mean it's cute as all get out... but it's nap time!

So ya: I was supposed to be pampered in hot bath goodness, but instead I am just worrying about a baby with possible pink eye. I love her. But days like today....

EDIT: such a booger to make a liar out of me: she is quiet... but how long will it last? hopefully at least 2 hours: wish me luck (she needs sleep!)

ALSO: I got eye cream: you have to (haha right) pull down their eyelid and administer..   Anyone ever try this move on a toddler?  I just wiped it on her eyelid (shut tight and screaming) and I am convinced it is not at all effective...

IMHO I don't think keeping her up late will help, as with all of my children no matter what time they go to sleep they still seem to wake at the same time.

She will sleep when she is tired, believe it or not. She likely will not take a nap for more than another year if she is already skipping from time to time. Good luck with that!

It sounds sweet to me. Her playin and singin. = ) Hope she feels better. Pull down the eye lid of a child...holly shit.....they don't make it easy for you. Here's to another day for you to get pampered. You deserve it after all that.

Forget eye cream... Get Eye Drops. My child is 4. If she goes to bed at her normal time she sleeps to 8. If she stays up late then she gets up between 6 - 7 am.

I'm 29 and still haven't outgrown naps. But sadly my daughter has. I remember when she was younger how we used to nap together on the couch. Oh how I miss those wonderful days.
