My work is one of those jobs where we take in $, as opposed to give it away. That means that you can sort of hold your head high knowing that we aren't giving money away to politician's girlfriends or buddies or whatever. I was thinking of work, I am trying ot move into a different division than the one I am in; the new job would be more stakeholder interaction, stuff I'm good at.
While thinking of this move, I was thinking about if 202p was created and run by the feds. I see only 4 differences.
#1. Doodi n' gang would think up this great idea: an older gamer's paradise, they would approach higher management for approval and after about 4 years of consulting lawyers, 202p is launched. It should be noted that coming up with a definition of a "Timmie" takes up 3.5 of the 4 years. However about one week after launch 202p is sued because it discriminates against the "unaged". The lawyers that were consulted are all on holidays and/or stress leave and can't be reached for months.
#2 There would be complaints to the Minister regarding "questionable" blogs. These complaints take up huge amounts of the Minister's time, as her office must answer each letter individually. DSmooth comes up with the idea of a "NSFW" tag, and implements it. Immediatly the number of complains drops dramatically, freeing up hours of time in the Minister's office. Some beaurocrat sees this brilliance, becomes scared for his own job and makes some noise. "Wait!" he says "It's not that the blogs are unsafe for work, for unsafe under the worker's compensation legislation meets a specific definition. It's not that these blogs will cause injury and are unsafe. oh no... NSFW should be changed to "inappropriate" for work (IFW)". DSmooth explains that NSFW is a trusted internet jargon, and so shouldn't be changed. This debate rages for the next 9 months, all blogs are put on hold. Meanwhile Durty gets so PO'd she hacks into the system, and the front page's background is a pic of the suicide girls. This security breach is not dealt with for years.
#3 Doodi, Dsmooth n' gang quit their jobs as fed civil servants and are re-hired as consultants. They make well over $100,000 a year each.
#4 The home button would be on the upper RIGHT hand side of the page, not the left,a s is custom everywhere except the Canadian Government. Seriously: how stupid is this:

That's it everyone! What else do you think would change if this was run by the government?
