Check it out, it's about in-game ads. Here's a quote:
What can we expect in the future? I expect that in game ads are going to be more dependant on the information on your gamercard, than on your geographic location or time of day. Think about it. My gamercard holds a ton of information. My gamertag for one. You can see what games I play, and how often, which can be used to determine basic demographics. If you know that 85% of people who play sports games are male under 25 (I am making this number up), and my gamercard has predominantly sports games... well you know I am likely to be a male under 25, even if I am currently playing a game that is not a sports game. Or if we know that females over 18 are the predominant users of casual games, and that is all that is in my library, again you can make certain assumptions. You also know what games I am “missing” from the publisher’s library. If I have a whole bunch of FPS games, except a FPS title from the publisher that has bought adspace, why not an ad for that game that I am missing? Or to notify me in game that there is DLC for another game in my library?
so what doyou think of in game ads?
