Let's see if this sticks... random (but FASCINATING) crap

So... Gonna try to switch up the blogging vibe and see what happens.

I am thoroughly enjoying a new hockey blog. she is super funny on twitter too. www.twitter.com/erinnicks

Erica is teh awesomeness. We had a touch of concern with her and her social skills. We got her assessed, and she's fine. She may have a bit of a social delay, but so far all of the places I have called say to wait a bit and just keep working with her. So... she doesn't yet play with other kids... but she is reading (actual sounding out of words) and writing (if you say what letters to write...) AND she is using her powers of magic (what idiot showed her  that she could use a magic wand to change things into other things? oh yeah, that was me) for evil. Or rather for manipulation. "Whiziziz I turn you into someone who can watch Backyardigans." nice. So she's ahead in some ways, behind in others. It's stressful, but it's all good.

Splinter Cell is great. I am liking the coop. Reminds me a bit of R6V. And geez have I come a long way, baby.  I feel... not so totally over my head.

Ebert said that video games could never be art. I say that it can, but we're not there yet. I beliieve that art has to transcend it doesn't just make you feel or think. That means a football game is art... and it's not. You need more than an emotional response or beautiful imagery. His definition of art seems to indicate that art can only be consumed, and never interacted with. What say you?

Pregnancy is going okay. Lots of heartburn and fucked up dreams. I miss caffeine.

I also had a poutine for lunch. Fries, gravy and cheese curds. No idea WHY this hasn't caught on in the US of A. Same with chip trucks... big vans that serve sausages, hot dogs, burgers and of course fries. Sort of a Canadian version of the hot dog stand. Srsly people... how are chip trucks not on every corner  in the US? And how is putine not on every single menu?

Trying to find new shoes. Sandals with lots of buckles so that when my feet swell and shrink I will be able to adjust. Suggestions?

That's it. Sorry ... no drama llama here.

WTF are chip trucks?? I have never seen such a thing in Saskatchewan. I guess we are not bigtime enough for such a thing. And yes, Splinter Cell Co-op is awesome. Co-op story kicks ass.

oh, i forgot...the people commenting on that blog are just silly. who would even consider wasting their time debating something so childish. also, i think art is always interactive. it's the schmucks like us that just stand back and look at it that don't know art...the guy with the paint brush in his hand will say it's interactive.

dunno bout up in moose country, but here in guidoville(NJ) we have disco fries. fries covered with gravy and melted mozarella cheese. some crappy places melt american cheese on them, but they just end up with those shoved down their eye sockets. hey, it's NJ, remember???

Don't sweat your kid's progress. Every kid is different and their development is varied, especially one as young as yours. The LAST thing you want to do is have your child pegged in a category at a very young age (ADHD, delayed development, anti-social, etc) and then railroaded into a schooling track that will follow them the rest of their life.
