Bought decorations today, bronze and red: hopefully it will look good together. As I was putting those little metal hangars on each ornament, I would show the ornament to Erica as she ate her dinner (slef feeding: so clever!). She would get the biggest smile on her face. "Seethe ball? It's glittery, this one is shiny. This one is a star!". Watching her look at those ornaments gave me the warm fuzzies. She doesn't knowt hat she is getting gifts, all she knows is that there is a tree (growing INSIDE!), there are pretty red and bronze ball thingies, and that there is white stuff on the ground. But she is so happy. This year I resolve for a stress free holiday. Cause it isn't about the gifts or trying to make every little thing perfect. It is about how beautiful and wonderful this time of year can be. Even though it's cold.
I was on CNN Money, and they have little galleries for what to buy the person in your life for Christmas. One for the sportsfan, one for the green-savy consumer, one for the foodie etc. Reading this I was stunned. Do people really send thousands of dollars on their spouse for Christmas? Get real. I absolutely hate the commercials for cars at this time of year. The one where one person surprises his or her spouse with A NEW CAR! The car always has a big red bow on it, you know the commercials I mean. I would be so pissed if my husband bought me a new car. We share the same effing bank account! Who makes huge financial decisions like that without consulting the other?! People headed for divorce court I suppose.
As I type this I realise how tired I am. I sleep in only 1 day a week: I get Saturday (we call it "Caturday") and my husband gets Sunday. One day sleeping in, I get caught up, but not really. It just makes by body want more sleep. My being is saying "Dude! That sleep thing was AWESOME! Lets do it again!". As you may be able to tell, Erica is not sleeping through the night still. It's like clockwork: 11:30, 4:00, 7:00 then up for the day around 8:00. If she were to cry, wake us up and then go back to sleep, that would be OK. It's getting out of my nice cozy bed that is the suck. I live in Ottawa. It gets cold. Getting out of bed is a major ordeal. OK that is so much exaggeration, count your blessings. I have a healthy happy baby that is waking me up, and the best husband in the world to keep the bed snuggly warm. I am truly blessed
