This breaks my heart. I do care for those I have "met" on this site, don't get me wrong. But It's the people around us that help us when times get tough. No matter what, we are physical beings, we need to see, touch, smell, hear people around us to feel whole. I love gaming, but I love my daughter and my husband more, and spending time with them is a joy. Going out with friends brings me peace. There is literally a whole world of people, stories that are waiting to be told, friendships to be enjoyed. Are some people jerks? of course. But honestly and truly, most aren't. Most are not out to get you, but we are self absorbed, and we often don't take the time to be empathetic to others around us.
What I'm trying to say is that I believe it's important for all of us to put the controller down. To reconnect with people close to us; or maybe to connect with new people. It doesn't have to be much. Go out to a local greasy spoon, read the paper over breakfast, smilie and say hello to the waitress. Or say "good morning!" like it is a good morning. And saying it to everyone that you meet whether it's your coworkers, family or strangers.
I'm one of "those" people. One that alot of people say they can't stand. I smile and say "Hey!" to strangers in elevators. After I've left a store, the clerks are smiling, cause I enjoy what I'm purchasing, even if it's just boring old groceries. People say "How are you doing?" and instead of "fine" I say "Amazing!" Why? because we live in an amazing world. By saying it, it makes it true. No matter how crap you feel things are going, you live like a prince compared to 90% of the people out there.
So, I implore you. Think for a second. Is there someone close to you you haven't really talked to in a while? Talk with them. Feeling like someone or something is missing? So something about it. Go on a date. Go to a local pub. Play with your children. Call your Mom. Call your Dad. Go out with friends. Go on a roadtrip!
Life to too short to live it over Live.
