Thank God: very minor miracle

Wow, had one of those: thanks you Jesus moments. Erica went to bed without much of a fuss. Usually she gts up crying, and we go into her room, she's standing in her crib, tears pouring down. Once during the night too.  Last night, she went down really well, didn't get up until a 6AM feeding. no problem.   I went in: stupid dummy mommy girl forgot to put up the side of the crib.  I was so thankful! I think someone was looking out for her.

Also: I have a question about weight loss.  How many calories should you eat in a day? I am trying to loose weight, so I decided to diet. I am 5'5" and 157.  Over the last 9 days I lost 4 lbs. That is way too much. I was on a 1500 cal per day diet.  Does that make sense or do you think there is something else wrong that I lost so much?  I don't "excercise" but I carry and chase after a 9 month old.   I have gained lots of muscle since Erica was born.

Any thoughts? Oh: and I do recognise that loosing "too much weight" is going to piss people off: but I'm a  total worrier.

Everyone is right in my opinion. Keep up the good work. You'll be where you want to be in no time.

DA is right. 2 pounds a week is perfect. You might hit a plateau after a month, but stick to it. Your body is just adjusting and you will probably get back to 1 to 2 pounds a week after that. I lost 37 pounds over three months in 2006. I have only gained back 7 of it since then. Still need to drop about 20 more to feel like a supermodel again...lol

2-4 lbs per week is o.k. I bet next week it will be less- even if you follow the same diet!! Great job!!

I will add a little something to that! Yes, you are right on track. Yes, you are chasing a baby around the house, getting exercise. But, you will do even better if you try some weight lifting. Oh no! I'm not talking huge! But a little weight training helps build muscle and shape. I have been lifting semi-serious weights for years, and I also weigh the most I ever have in my life. But, I think I look the best! Even for an old lady.... LOL

Actually, the rate you are losing is right on track. You should work towards 2 pounds each week. That is slow enough so the 1500 calories is a good level for you.

No - that's a good calorie amount for you...And whenever you start out a diet, you tend to lose more weight at first because it's water - especially if you're switching to healther, less processed foods. Keep it up!
