In response to Mulch's blog: Mount Rushmore Winter Activities Here is my Mount Rushmore or winter activities.
#1. Hockey! I am Canadian, they take away my passport if you don't say Hockey. In Canada, we live and breathe hockey. They did a poll, who was the most important Canadian (past or present) and our version of John Madden was in the top 10. Gotta Love Grapes!! We've had riots due to calls made against hometown heroes. Canadian players outnumber Americans in the league by a ratio of almost four to one.
#2: Curling! Dammit I am so Canadian. But what can you say about a sport that practiaclly encourages drinking. HU-RAY! HU-RAY HARD! From Wiki: It is also traditional for the winning team to buy the losing team a drink after the game. W00t! My Mom and Dad went to Vegas, with his sister and husband. Anyway I get a call from them... they are in the hotel watching Curling! I think it was either the Olympics or the Brier. I like to believe that they were completely drunk at the time, not that they spend precious Vegas hours watching curling.
#3. Snowball Fights! The sting of icey snow on your face, the chill as it melts down your shirt, the dismay when your return volley gets stuck to your damn wollen mittens... Who doesn't love a good snowball fight?
#4. Building Snow forts. This was my thing as a kid, I loved making snow forts more than snowmen. I remember being frightened to death of the plow, and playing on the curb. We were told that the snow from the plow could crush us. Then again I also remeber a demonstration that involved a dummy and a thresher, and another one that involved Drano and an egg (which was supposed to be an eye). And they wonder why I'm neurotic.
That is my list: I encourage everyone to chime in with their list or comments.
Now on to the next MR... MR of Desserts
#1. Ice Cream Sundae. Yummy. Ice Cream... then get creative! How much fudge sauce do you want? Butterscotch with that? Go for it! Strawberries? Whipped Cream? only requirement? Cherry on top. It's art in a cup.
#2. Pie. Who hates pie? I always tell my Daughter "I love you more than pie." that is a whole bunch
#3. Mousse? I fyou have no room for mousse, you are lying. Light, fluffy, tasty. What else is there to say?
#4. cookies. I don't know why more restaurants don't have plate of cookies as a dessert. I mean you may not have room for a whole dessert (unless it's mousse, then see #3) but you have room for a cookie. You show me someone who hates cookies, and I'll show you a freak
That's it for me. I have tried to put Erica down for a nap. It hasn't worked. Sleep at night, scream during the day? Is that how this is going to be?
