WTF: 50, 000 views? (Contest)

I know we spoke about this last weekend buddy and I will tell you the same thing I said then. You did the right thing. I walked away from it about 4 months ago and I feel FREE. : ) I can't add much more to what you and Fade said, but they are all solid reasons. The big brother information gathering machine is what scares me the most.

Dont use it, don't see the point in it, think it's a pointless waste of time... pretty much sums up my feelings on facebook. I signed up with the xbox360 got facebook . I thought one of those buttons would link in people on my FL who had FB profiles and i could build a video game facebook network with my FL peeps. But that button always comes back as no one having an account. So i've given up on it. FB can suck it and so can the feature on the xbox.

Canceled last month for many of the same reasons. FB is evil...if you look at the privacy policy.

I cancelled about a week or so ago. I had almost the exact same experiences you talked about...friends from 20 years ago, girls I dated, and a random smattering of others. I put it down to this. There are 3 types of people for FB: -those who honestly want to use it to stay connected in an easy way with people that they otherwise would not connect to -those who use it to break up their day at work by playing those stupid games and taking stupid quizzes -peeping tom types that can range from innocent people who just want to look at pics of your family to the full blown crazies who add you for who knows what I figured it the same as you. If I wasn't friends with you in high school, why the hell would I add you now? If we haven't talked since high school, why would I add you now? I can't think of any reason to add ANY of my old girlfriends. I don't care about your farm or your fucking tiki hut, or which "flower" you might be from a quiz. I don't care whether you like God, or whether you think Obama is God. After I factored all of that out, I realized I had about 10 friends on my list that I would keep, all of whom I either see regularly anyway, game with, or communicate via phone/emails. Was an easy decision after that. P.S. It seems like a LOT of search engines use FB information as one of their main sources for pulling info for a person also. I kind of like being "off the grid" in a lot of ways.
