More bitching and whineing

I decided a couple months back to quit wearing my combat patch. The reason you ask? It wasn't earned! If it was called a deployment patch then I might wear it. As one of the better people in my life told me "if anyone asks what you did tell them you went on vacation for a year." I feel guilty wearing it, just like i felt guilty about going to Kuwait. Come on where we went for R&R got hit more than we did. The Army with it's infinite wisdom made the CAB (Close Action Badge) so you could tell soldiers who have been IN combat apart from those who were in a "combat" zone. I've always felt the CAB took away from the CIB (Combat Infantry Badge) and the CFMB (Combat Field Medics Badge.) In this world of making everyone get a trophy the Army had to do something. Granted only males can earn a CIB but everyone who is a medic can earn a CFMB. Give everyone their trophy, it's the American way!

OK...I see your point. But I also say YOU SERVED! That puts you above anyone who didn't so you get my respect. Don't feel bad about what the Army decided to do with you. You did your job.
