But no.
Me being the knucklehead I am, threw down the 3 twenty dollar bills with such haste in finding the Lost Gold of Cortez that I left my common sense at the house.
Perks to the game:
-the graphic detail is beautiful
we're not talking Gears of War beautiful, but definitely nice enough to know it's on the 360.
-weapons
sik guns, whips and anything else in the enviroment you can pick up. (rocks, shovels, barrels..)
-dialog
very well done. i was immersed.. to say the least.
In-game Garbage:
-you CANNOT hurt innocents
Now, it's not like I'm a jolly ol' peasant killer or anything but even the bad guys can't be harmed until they become hostile. and what makes it even cheesier is that the game offers a pop-up disclaimer saying if you try to 'harm' innocent people, horses or corpes, the game will end. wtf, mate?
-you walk like a ZOMBIE
look down at your feet while walking or falling and guess what, they're stiff as a board. maybe you ARE a zombie & I just haven't gotten that far in the game yet.
-]Rediculous puzzles & objectives with no apparent assistance
example? in one scene, you're running from cantancerous, gun-spouting hillbillies & you need to cross a gorge. To do so, you must whip a branch and swing across. This task alone took me a half hour & a handful of plummety deaths to accomplish.. VERY annoying. The puzzles leave almost NO clues as how to complete & since the enviroment is so open-ended, you can wander for 10 minutes in the wrong direction and never know.
Needless to say, not my cup of joe.
If you are a brave, achievement whoring soul (like maybe myself I guess), you can trade or buy this off of me for cheap in the 'Game Trades' forum.
If by chance you take heed to good warning, run far, far away from 'The Call of Juarez' and never look back.
