Petit Le Mans Kicked My A##

So I'd made plans to go to Petit Lemans This year. For those of you who aren't familiar with racing, Petit Le Mans is a the season closer for the Amaercan Le Mans Series (ALMS). The ALMS is a Sporstcar road racing series. This is nothing like NASCAR. But I digress.

I had lamely attemted to get a 2Old4Forza clan get together at the race. Unfortunately, due to the crappy state of our econmy & poor planning on my part, it ended up being me Going town to party with Dean1268 (my 2Old4Forza clan-mate). My original master plan was to Arrive on Wednesday when the gates opened at the track, stake out my campsite with Dean's crew, & proceed to relax & enjoy some great sportscar racing. Nedless to say, nothing ever goes as planned. Long story short, I didn't make it down until about 9 pm on Friday night (the evening before the race. I"m quite an experienced camper, so I threw my handy dandy tent up & proceeded to go meet up with Dean. Thi, being my forst time meeting a fellow 2O2P'er in real life had me praying I wasn't sure what to expect. But the minute I called dean, he came & picked me up from where I ended up camping & drive me over to his group's camp. Dean's beaan a meamber of an ALMS team & is a long-time fan. Also, being from Atlanta where the race is held, he goes every year. So these guys Know how to do it right when you go to a race. I walk into a fairly sizable circling of campers, tents, &canopie0s.With generators poering Lights & the campers. Then there's the nice warm fire for the chillish evening & last bout DEFINITELY NOT LEAST, CORNHOLE!! Dean proceeds to introduce me to everyone in the camp & invites me to chow down on some jambalaya that they'd just finished for dinner. It couldn't have been a nicer bunch of folks. Everyone made me feel very welcome & I made several friends over the weekend. The best part is that For the first time , I've been to an ALMS event & also met a Feelow 2O2P'er. This will now be an annual pilgrimage for me & I hope that I can encourage All of my Fellow @old4Forza Clan-mates & all Fellow 2O2P'ers to make plans to join us Next year. You won't be dissappointed.

Oh yeah...The race FREAKIN' RULED"
