Shared on Fri, 07/10/2009 - 08:11This is just crazy, apparently my city (Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada) is the Slurpee Capital of the World for the 10th straight year! (well according to 7-11 sales). Here's a news article from my local newspaper:

What makes this extremely crazy is that Slurpee sales remain good throughout the year, including the winters where it is commonly as cold as -30'C (-22'F) and even as cold as -40'C (-40'F)! How do people even want to drink a slushy cold drink in those conditions? LOL.
I was a multi-visit per day patron of my local 7-11 in my high school days (it was a 5 min walk away from the school), but I was more of a Super Big Gulp guy rather than a Slurpee guy.
