Military Uses Music as a Torture Technique

Here's some of the song list.  Most I could endure, or even enjoy, but a few there would have me banging my head against a wall too!

"Enter Sandman," Metallica.

• "Bodies," Drowning Pool.

• "Shoot to Thrill," AC/DC.

• "Hell's Bells," AC/DC.

• "I Love You," from the "Barney and Friends" children's TV show.  (KILL ME NOW KILL ME NOW!!!)

• "Born in the USA," Bruce Springsteen.

• "Babylon," David Gray.

• "White America," Eminem.

• "Sesame Street," theme song from the children's TV show.

Other bands and artists whose music has been frequently played at U.S. detention sites: Aerosmith, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Don McLean, Lil' Kim, Limp Bizkit, Meat Loaf, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tupac Shakur.

I heard that the most effective torture music was Barry Manilow.

I watched a documentary the other night about the shit that went down at Abu Ghraib called Standard Operating Procedure. There was an interview with one of the MP's in charge of softening them up. He said he first tried Hip Hop Hooray by Naughty by Nature, but after a while the prisoners started singing along with the "Heeeeyyyyy, Hooooooooeeee" part of the song. Damn, I would have loved to have seen/heard that. He next tried Metalica and other hard stuff. The prisoners just learned to sleep through it even though it was loud as the noise was fairly constant and the lyrics indecipherable to them. He then borrowed some county/western. Within hours the prisoners were begging to be interrogated. Problem was that the constant country music was as hard on the guards as the prisoners. :) As far as Born in the USA, I'm guessing the terrorists would probably like it if they listened to the lyrics between the Choruses....something most Americans have never done. http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/8013/ Even at 12 years old I couldn't comprehend what was going through Reagan's head using that as a campaign song:
