A Brief History of My Xboxes

I removed my blog ban [but only because SoupNazzi TOTALLY justified it for me, and Spartacus initiated the self-blog-ban ban!]

History of my Xbox's

  1. Launch Console dubbed "Alpha" - sent for repair three times, is currently awaiting a box to send it for a 4th time. The 4th repair required a supervisor's sign off. All repairs have been for 3RLOD. Funny side note: I used to play a lot of COD2 with a gamertag LROD....hmmmmmmm....conspiracy?
  2. Rent to Own Console dubbed "Fatty" - Fatty joined us during the 2nd repair of Alpha and I decided to keep him. I got the replacement warranty at GameStop on him and traded it when it started getting jumpy this past March. No other issues EVER with Fatty.
  3. Elite Console dubbed "The Darkness" - no problems with her since I got it in May - fingers are still crossed. My husband is the best. After a rather heated discussion on Valentines Day concerning flowers and their perceived value to a gamerchick, he got my birthday present 100% right! Total surprise too - which as many of you know is quite an accomplishment!

Well so much for the self-blog ban! ;-) Glad to see you gave it up (with persuasion). I have 2 360's, got the 2nd when the first died and sent back. Now the second has been replaced via a Gamestop warranty. Glad the hubby got 'the hint'!

You talking 360s here? Some of us still have our 180s. I softmodded mine to play N64 and Atari games!!

On behalf of the entire 2o2p community, Jeep, let me say we are very proud of you for stepping up to your responsibilities and demonstrating appropriate accountability on this important Friday. And "high fives" to the husband for nailing the birthday. Such an elusive goal for all of us. I'm proud of him too. I refused to have the 3RLOD discussion, as my original Costco purchased XBOX was chugging along wonderfully and I was afraid if I talked about it . . . . well, you know. So I talked about it and two weeks ago it happened . . . : (. M$ told me 6 to 8 #$%! weeks to complete the coffin shuffle. Costco stood buy their "Costco Warranty" and replaced my XBOX without question fifteen months after I bought it. High fives to Costco! But I'm still not Elite. *sigh*

Oh good deal about the flowers thing. Way to speak up. I was so ranting about XBox Live's Mother's Day thing. "Wait a minute, the kid gets a 360 and I get FLOWERS!?!" "Not even a game?" Show some love here!!!!!

CapnHun - Oh yes, I have battled the flower issue for 7 years. "Oh, yes honey, buy me something that is pretty today but will soon wither, smell bad and die. What a great model of our relationship!" Any GamerWoman knows that Consoles are Forever baby!
