Day 34: Combo My Combo!

I changed my gamertag. It was a whim but so far the feedback has been great.  Das Jeepe  - say it with an Ahnold voice for maximum impact!  :)

I combo'd the days because I realize my little slip was just that, a slip.  I haven't slipped since and have had many opportunities to slip.

This weekend is back to normal for me.  No LAN, no Event, no Metal Band Bar Crawl.  Just Jeepy and Jeepy junior going to ballet, then a birthday party.  /sigh

It's square root day!  It only occurs nine times each century... today is one of them.  03/03/09

Last one was 2/2/2004 and the next one is 4/4/2016.

----------------------------------======

I'm trying to mind over matter my lack of metabolism.  When you quit smoking not only does your metabolism drop... it drops below normal non-smoking levels.  Hence the typical weight gain.  Supplements, Pharmicuticals.... lots of ways to medicate that back.  I am just trying to keep bouncy the old fashion way.  I walk around the office a lot.  Drink a lot of water and chew gum like it's going out of style.  (chewing gum is supposed to trick your mind into thinking you are eating... I dunno... it makes my jaw hurt wicked bad!).  Hopefully this will be enough, because even though my doc prescribed it.  Even though I have it waiting at Walgreens, I don't think I want to medicate my way out of this.

Jeep.. I heard the opposite about chewing gum.. It supposedly makes you more hungry? I'm not sure. I seem to get hungrier when I chew gum. I have been battling low metabolism all my life. Don't know if you're a tea drinker, but Green Tea is a natural metabolism booster. With tea and a lemon it's a delicious substitute for a beverage. I've also started trying out this thing called "The Belly Off Diet".... you're suppose to work out intensely for just 2-5 min first thing in the morning. Run in place, do jumping jacks, squats etc... It shoots up your heart rate first thing in the morning and boosts your metabolism for the whole day. Other ways... eat small portions but more frequently. So instead of 3 big meals, 5-6 small meals. That way your stomach is always working and breaking down food, and nothing sits in your tummy for too long. Make sure you get LOTS of fiber. Those are my tips.

I quit the Chantix, but have remained smoke free! (yay for you and me!) - I never realized how wicked my mind can be - you would not believe the rationalization it attempts..."I can just have one or two....better yet, I can just smoke 1 pack a week"....yeah, right....I have to shut that thinking down pronto! And my next visit to the Dr. is going to be asking about a TEMPORARY appetite suppressant. I am ashamed to say I don't have the will-power to quit smoking AND lose weight at the same time... Keep on, Jeep! I am watching you for inspiration! How's that for pressure! :)

you're doing great Jeep.... I always found that my metabolism is attached to my state of mind...if I feel hyper and bouncy my metabolism goes up, tired and depressed it goes down....so shoot for the good vibes....

@Bas - YAY! I'm off Chantix too and none too soon. Was making me feel, not myself. We can do this together girl! My doc was so ready to give me this pill, but man... I feel like I am cheating! Need a pill to quit smoking, a pill to not gain tons of weight, ... why all the damn pills!

I read this science fiction story when I was 12 or so about a booth (in an ice cream shop for some reason) you could sit in and it would just melt away all of your fat day by day. After a few weeks everyone in the world was thin! Totally awesome. Then it turns out that aliens were harvesting the fat to power their space ships and were planning on taking over earth. As an adult I've always thought it might be worth the aliens for something that cool to be available for my personal use. Not sure where I was going with that...oh yeah, pills. I wish they'd just come up with a way to be nice and thin without having to work so damn hard at it...some of us just weren't born with skinny genes...damnit!
