I downloaded the demo yesterday for this game with hopes that I would be entertained enough to think about buying it later. I played the demo and here are some of my thoughts:
The graphics are nice especially the water and swimming. Unless I am dumb, I couldnt find any way to use a first person perspective to look around and get my bearings. There was a binocular function but that isnt what I was looking for. Another thing you have to position her like in previous games when jumping to objects or she will fall and die. No biggie, I can deal with that. As for shooting the bad guys...I snuck up on a couple and lined up my sites on one dudes head...I shoot him and WHAT??? He didnt die...He actually turned and shot at me after getting shot in the head at close range. Having played GTA and other games....that was disappointing. Is it too much to ask that when you get such a good shot off, that the target dies immediately??? There are push and pull puzzles here as in previous games. I got to a part that I cannot figure out how to deal with the puzzle. I see some of the hints at what I need to do, but have yet to determine what I need to do to accomplish it. In this game, Lara has a light built into her back pack strap but it is on a timer and will not stay on indefinately...so like a flare, it would burn out?
So far, I have not decided whether I like the improvements etc enough to want the game....thinking rental from Gamefly for now and take it from there.
