CoD Black Ops news; Halo Reach-around

That's it... I'm out of gungirl pics. Time to resupply.

I'm a sentimental guy. You know how gals stereotypically cry during romantic movies? I cry during guy flicks. You know the scene at the end of Red Dawn with Partisan Rock? Yep, I cried. The same goes for games which tug at my heartstrings. Master Chief's funeral in Halo 3. Yep, I misted up.
That's why I loved the latest Medal of Honor trailer, 'Leave a Message". Tho I never saw combat, I was deployed overseas most of my enlistment and was away from family and friends a long time. The voice acting was above average, really authentic-sounding. Hope they're smart enough to cast the actor in a part in the game. After I saw that trailer, I pre-ordered Medal of Honor.
There was no CoD4 retro night last night, as the 2Old2Play crew is indulging in some Halo: Reach beta action. I already know Reach is just more of the same Halo 3 stuff I left behind some time ago. I was watching some Reach beta SWAT gameplay (embedded below) and it looked interesting, but I can't see myself going back to endure the squeaky-voiced, pimply-faced, teabagging Timmy douchebags I so gratefully parted company with back when CoD4 became my obsession. Good riddance.
"Please" always makes ultimatums go down easier.

MattHDGamer: Territorial Control on Scrapyard

WePlayCoD raised a good point in a tweet yesterday: Infinity Ward announced a planned map pack release for late in 2010 - which coincides with the release, more or less, of Call of Duty: Black Ops, currently being developed by sister studio, Treyarch. Is this a calculated dick move on the part of Infinity Ward? Speaking of dick moves, Activision Evil Overlord Bobby Kotick was like a rash all over the game media sites offering his explanation for firing Infinity Ward co-presidents Zampella and Ward. He told everyone within reach of his tentacles that Infinity Ward was 'on track' with a CoD project. How 'on track' they could be with an admitted 35 employees resigning since he gave West and Zampella the axe is another issue. Guess he's comforted by the financial news that Activision's profits doubled in 1Q 2010.
Today's featured MW2 vid is a fine example of Free-for-All territorial control by F1sTDaCuFFs on Scrapyard impressively played with no Killstreaks. After the CoD jump, there's a pretty lousy series of spawns from iBashTV on Salvage. On to the CoD links:

Today, there are  4 Halo: Reach beta vids to enjoy: Knight gives us his walkthrough of one of the less popular Reach maps, Swordbase. Then, Shaun (AKA Hutch) gives a LOL with an epic sneak fail. Next up is a montage of shotgun kills from the Reach beta. We close with some Halo: Reach SWAT gameplay, showing off the Halo franchise's version of hardcore.

I'm a sentimental man too Joker. What gets me teary eyed or flat out crying is courageous actions balanced with an emotional heart and humility in place of ego. Moments like the end of Lord of the Rings, Return of the King when Aragorn is crowned and walking through the crowd only to come across his love, Arwen, the amount of emotion and excitement light up his face. Then to top it off as they walk together and the crowd is kneeling before their king he comes to the four hobbits and as they kneel he stops them and says "my friends you kneel before no one" and then does so himself. He knows they are the real heroes that overcame more than even he did to defeat evil, void and non love. Fucking tears me up inside and makes me dream of what it would be like to have leaders like that once again. A true King. The trailer for Medal of Honor tugged at me too.

@YEM Maybe things have changed since I played Halo2/Halo 3, but the proportion of Timmy douchebags always seemed higher in the Halo franchise. Could be just selective memory on my part fer sure. @Snuphy You may be right. Losing 35 out of 100 people would strain the manpower quite a bit. @OS1R1S Forgot about LOTR. I misted up at Boromir's death. It was played so well by Sean Bean. "My captain, my King..." It was an amazing moment in the film for me.

"the squeaky-voiced, pimply-faced, teabagging Timmy douchebags" I never got this type of statement. First of all, the CoD games are full of the same amount of those same Timmy douchebags. But the great thing about the Halo games is you DON'T have to hear those kids, ever. All you have to do is set the voice chat to 'team and party only' and you'll never hear them again

I think Activision still has their self appointed cronies running IW, so I wouldn't think IW has the ability to screw with Treyarch any more. I think the late DLC release is more a product staffing issues.
