Watched some live streaming MW non-hardcore TDM. Here are my quickie impressions, snipped and pasted from the CoD forum. Forgive the crappy formatting, but the copypasta from the forum post kept giving me an illegal HTML tag error. Whatever.

Some impressions:

Not surprisingly, the gameplay (regular TDM) I saw looked very CoD4-like. Since it was non-hardcore, as soon as the dude got a kill, everyone knew where he was on the mini-map and he got fragged. A lot.

You get rewards & XP for everything. (So, it looks like guys who kinda suck, like yours truly, will feel rewarded even when they get their asses handed to them in a basket.) It looked like you got a reward for immediately killing the guy who killed you; something like "Payback". The dude playing got promoted once or twice in the course of 4 or 5 matches. Therewere constant upgrades to perks (unlocking pro levels of perks). He used the ACR mostly. I saw the M4A1 on there, but he never used it. He mostly played with these perks, in order of tier: Sleight of Hand, Stopping Power, Steady Aim, &Painkiller. I did see the copycat death streak perk in there when he was really, really getting his ass kicked.

I saw a couple of maps: Afghan was an Afghani mountain village with a downed C-130 in it. Looks like teams spawn at opposite ends of a narrow map & work their way towards each other. A lot of rocks & Afghani huts to hide out in. There was an urban map with a lot of brick buildings, tunnels, etc., but I didn't catch the name of it. At one spot on the urban map, there's a tunnel with some 55-gallon drums. The dude playing crouched behind the barrels and took a .50 cal round in the head. When he respawned, he went right back for the barrels and got fragged again. I saw the resupply drop. The dude dropped his red smoke, and the box landed near the smoke a few seconds later. The first time, his random resupply was a B1 bomber strike. (He killed himself with it, BTW, and it showed him the killcam shot of the bomb falling on him.) The second time he got an Apache heli, I think, but I didn't see him launch it.

During one of the matches, the host changed a couple of times. It was very similar to the Halo 2/Halo3 host transitions, as we saw in the 402 "knife in the head" video. At one point, the dude playing was 1 against 6. Some reinforcements finally arrived, but the dude streaming took an RPG in the asspipe and left the game for good apparently.
