You want to know what an F2 tornado looks like? Here you go. This was taken last Friday night, by Shane Durrance, as the tornado moved through downtown Atlanta. The grayish column in the middle is the wall cloud, surrounding the actual funnel of the tornado. The light you see, is actually from a lightning flash, making this picture possible. Great pic, scary circumstances. The tornado struck at the heart of downtown at a peak time for key events. With the SEC Men's Basketball tournament going on at the Georgia Dome, conventions at the adjacent World Congress Center, Atlanta Hawks game at Philip's Arena and a number of others in the area for Friday night activities, there were a number of people in the area when the tornado touched down. What's most amazing about this? Not one single fatality.

Yeah it would do a lot more damage in the city as opposed to it hitting in the country area. It probably did more damage cost wise to Atlanta, than the F4 that hit our town. Only cause its all spread out and not as populated.

I've heard tell that they're not afraid to pray and ask for help down that-a-way, so I'm not suprised that there were no fatalities. http://www.accessnorthga.com/detail.php?n=203950&c=10 Glad everyone is safe.

Wow, we drove through Atlanta a day and a half after the tornado hit and saw the destruction from the highway. There were some pretty torn up buildings.
