Shared on Fri, 03/28/2008 - 13:33Good afternoon! We are home from our visit with the cardiologist. Let me tell you that this doctor is wonderful as are everyone in that office that came in contact with Megan. I am so thankful for them! Megan had lots of work done on her today. I must tell you that she was AMAZING! Jim and I could not be more proud of her. She helped the nurse take the stickers off of her when she had her EKG done and she tried to help the nurse with her ultrasound when they did her Echo. The nurse came in and said sometimes they have to put the children to sleep when they have an Echo and that made me very nervous. I thought there was no way she was going to stay still that long. She proved us wrong BIG TIME! What a big girl, I tell you! The doctor said that her heart did look good. She does have what they call PDA (please don’t ask me what that stands for right now) and a heart murmur. Both of which they are going to monitor. It appears to be consistent with her mito disease. We just need to pray that all they have to do is watch it and it doesn’t change. When they were looking at the monitor and the doctor, PA, and tech were talking about it I looked at Jim and he looked at me and I know his heart sank to the floor as much as mine did. I thought, Oh no! You see this morning on my way to the doctor I became very nervous. I called my mom almost in tears and thankfully she always has a way of calming me down. I thought what if they found something. Man, it about made me sick. She told me how I knew who was taking care of her. And how strong and amazing Megan is (not to mention beautiful) and all the amazing things God has done in her life and the people she has touched. And God is bigger than any old Mito disease!!! I knew all of this but I sure did need to hear that from my momma this morning. So, back to my point, I had that sinking feeling when they were talking about everything. Thankfully the Lord gave us a peace so we could listen and understand what the doctor was saying. Thank you Lord!! So all in all it’s not too bad I guess. They will watch it and make sure it stays the way it is but they are on top of it and know what’s going on. That’s just the way it is with Mito disease, you wait and watch.
