From Megan's blog:

I have shared the following with a few of you but I truly feel I need to put it out there for everyone to pray.

Recently Jim and I were able to get away for a couple of days for our 10 year anniversary. The boys got to have their own vacation at Nana's and Peepaw's while we were gone(I think I told you that they recently moved very close to us, which is a huge praise). Anyways, we were in Tennessee we were able to spend some time with my niece and one of my brothers. It was so wonderful to spend time with them. While we were there my brother shared with me some issues that one of my other brothers, Gary is dealing with. My brother and sister-in-law have two boys. I believe they are 18 and 16 years old. Basically they have been in and out of trouble a lot and it is really taking a toll on them. On top of all of this my brother lost his job and my sister-in-law is in bad shape from health issues. I guess all of this was just too much for him and he was ready to kill himself. Thankfully my brother talked to him and was able to talk him out of it. I am not going to go into details but he came VERY close. Then a few days after that my brother found his 18 year old son hanging. Thankfully he had just done it and my brother was able to get him down and he was ok. I don't normally share this kind of personal information but I feel that they need some BIG TIME prayers. I have had one brother commit suicide almost 15 years ago so seeing all this happen again is not good. I know how dedicated you guys are to pray for Megan so I checked with my niece and we both felt that it would be a good idea to get as many people praying for this situation as we can. It is absolutely heartbreaking and I can't even imagine how much this hurts my mom to see her son have to go through this. I have left out a ton of details but I just wanted to give you a little history so you would know what to pray for. This is a very sad situation and my heart is terribly burdened because I don't know what else to do but pray. Please, if you don't mind, lift my brother and his family up to the Lord. He is listening!

Not a whole lot to report on Megan. Her nurse and I have realized that the only way Megan is able to have her Cheerios and juice now is if her drain tube is open to drain it all back out. Any of that sitting in her belly just causes her so much discomfort. We are so thankful for the drain tube so she is still able to have the little bit of cheerios and juice. That is the only thing she is allowed to have so it would be so sad to see that taken away. She is struggling with a yucky nose but we think it is because of the summer heat. So far nothing else has surfaced. Oh, Jimmie made honor roll! We could not be more excited for him! He told my mom and dad yesterday that he is going to go to college next year! Haha!

I think that is about it for now. Thank you again so much for praying for our family. I hope you do not mind me sharing this extra request but I it has been bothering for a while and I really felt the need to send this out to you all. Have a blessed week!

It was hard to listen to all of the problems that are ravaging one of Stacy's brother's family. We had just started dating when one of her other brothers committed suicide. And to hear that another brother, and his son, tried to do the same was heart breaking. We are going to continue to pray for them, and for God to heal what ever it is that is teraing them a part.

Our vacation was nice. Great to get away and relax without the kids. Chattanooga is a great place to spend a weekend. Beautiful city with lots to do. Anyhow, while we were at the aquarium, I saw something that caught my eye and had to take a picture of. Alligator pwnage! That poor turtle just sat there, as if to say "Nothing good can come of this.", while the gator just snoozed away.

As if that weren't enough. Megan got a new Strawberry Shortcake swimsuit and hat. :)

My heart and prayers go out to you and your family, Stacy. Suicide and suicidal thoughts are never easy to handle in family. I hope they are getting the help they need to get them through this trying time!

I am praying. As for your vacation pictures, it is nice to see Megan looking so normal. I think there might be a lesson in that alligator picture....

I agree Capn. Like, "When you think life couldn't get any worse, you could have an alligator on your back."
