We all can't wait to play Halo 3, but I will definitely miss Halo 2. All of the good times and bad, that we have experienced in the many wonderful multiplayer maps. It brings tears to my eyes to say goodbye to these maps. I present to you:
"Memories" - A Farewell to Halo 2.
Goodbye Lockout.
All of your shortcut jumps that I have missed, resulting in suicide. Goodbye to those guys that shoot the exploding barrels when I try to get the sniper and launch me to my death. I will miss yelling "Under Glass!!" and "BR 3". You were the home to the "Lucky Bombermen". You were the greatest map ever!
Goodbye Ascension.
All of your BTB rocket matches I have played on thee. I will miss your MM superjumpers whom I used to snipe when the got up there anyway, and jumping far down your base, just to hide and get away from it all, even if I didn't have the ball.
Goodbye Midship.
All of your "who gets the sword first?" races, MLG ball games, and hunting down Malinko every time he hid up on Pink 3.
Goodbye Ivory Tower.
All of your "who gets the rockets first" races. I will miss trying to find Malinko hiding in the indoor palm trees, racing to get the overshield, hiding atop the elevator to assassinate people, and trying to figure out why Mulch was hiding behind the crates on the lower level of shotgun side. I will miss saying "back of hardwood".
Goodbye Beaver Creek.
Your fights between the sniper and the rockets. Your teleport shenanigans. Your shortcut jump from Rocks to Blue base that I could never quite make. Trying to throw the flag out the roof, or even worse, out the side windows! I played some of the best MLG CTF games on you, and I loved dropping the flag to shotgun someone, only to find the flag returned after I did so.
Goodbye Burial Mounds.
All of your fights in the "ribs". Every game of snickets. Racing to get Rockets before Mikey snipes me. Who won't miss saying "they are at the nipples". And of course the biggest comeback of the century when we won Lowball against Ghosts of Onyx. Here's to you Burial Mounds.
Goodbye Colossus.
The map that nobody really liked to play except once in a while. I will still miss blowing up your exploding gas containers, jumping the the air lift repeatedly just to annoy everyone, and playing Neutral CTF Snipers.
Goodbye Zanzibar.
Or more commonly known as Wind Power Station 7. I will miss your big spinning wheel that was used for, well, we will never know. All the games of Assault and CTF, and races to Camp Froman. Sniping superjumpers atop the wheel. And sword canceling to get out the map and view the beach in a whole new light. I will miss most your greatest ability - being the best map to host "Hour of Power". At least you will be reincarnated next month, and "Hour of Power" shall live on.
Goodbye Coagulation.
So much to say, so little time. 2nd best map ever. All of the CTF games, Gulch Wars, Snipers, the location for the "Avatar Challenge" movie. Spawn camping with the tank, Flag wars, Hog Wild Neutral, Football. Your "three trees" and "sunny side rocks" will be missed the most!! I hope that Valhalla does you the justice you deserve.
Goodbye Headlong.
Another one of my favorite maps. The Snickets and Hog Mania we have played on you. Camping at teleport exit. Jumping the Warthog across the "broken bridge". The location of last years never ending "Turkey Day Frag Fest" where we buried Klik under every imaginable object on the map.
Goodbye Waterworks.
You "kind of too big map that we like to play only sometimes". I will miss flying the banshee to the top of the water pump thingy only to land just the wrong way that I fell off! The banshee fights, the Green and Yellow CTF games for variety, and shooting the stalactites from the ceiling just to see them crumble when they hit the ground.
Goodbye Foundation.
One of the best maps for 4 team CTF, and some insane Neutral Bomb games. Oh how I have missed you from the Multi-Team playlist. Your turrets, your rocks, and getting out of the map to view you from above.
Goodbye Containment.
You were another "kind of too big map sometimes", but I loved you anyway! The Gulch Wars, Heavy Vehicles, Flag and Bomb games. "Why doesn't anyone have our tank?". "Why does it take so friggin' long for the sniper to respawn?". I will also miss getting out of the map with the Spectre, getting atop the large structure and driving off!
Goodbye Warlock.
You were the map people loved to hate at times. Popping up at a seemingly higher frequency in every matchmaking playlist that existed. A great recreation from the original Halo. You were also home to one of my favorite games ever - Multi Team Neutral CTF. The most carnage that anyone could handle. To this day, I can still not figure which side belongs to which team color.
Goodbye Sancutary.
Home of the "wet" and "dry" rocks. Hiding in shotgun tunnel. Racing for the sword. Home to some of the most intense slayer matches. Playing Counterstrike on you. I hope you are replaced in Halo 3.
Goodbye Turf.
Your next to pointless Warthog. Exploding trucks near the warthog. A great swat map and decent sniper map. Hiding behind your various crates and spawn camping with the sniper from the med tent.
Goodbye Backwash.
We hardly knew thee. Thanks to the 360. You were the worst map to play Team Snipers on. But the best map for "Room of Doom". I miss your fog the most. I hope they bring you back in Halo 3 just to screw with everyone.
Goodbye Elongation.
Personally, you were one of my least favorite maps, even though you were redesigned from Halo 1. I will miss getting burned by your random fire through out the map, and falling down the abyss when I was trying to hide behind a box.
Goodbye Gemini.
Another underrated map! I will miss hiding out on your ledges with the ball, and throwing sticky grenades just as I pass through your portals while people are following me. I will also miss that time Malinko showed a us how to get outside of you, and we wasted 45 minutes trying to walk to the "city" in the distance.

Goodbye Relic.
All of your CTF games. The portal that the defensive team would randomly open by accident. The floating platform by Covey snipe that you could launch into the ocean with some rockets. All of the times I drove the ghost into the ocean. Sniping from the rock by the Pelican. And all of the warthog suicide missions that we have journeyed on together.
Goodbye Terminal.
The best map for assault. Trying to take out the Wraith. "Do we have rocks?". Getting spawn camped in offensive base. Your garage was the most popular place to be in Team Snipers. Try to get the warthog across your tracks while avoiding the train. Getting kill by the train (or Guardians) over and over and over again.
Goodbye Desolation.
I didn't think you would have ever been re-created, I really didn't. I hate your crummy default starting weapons, but I loved playing Hog and Ghost wars on you. I wish you had a BR start all the time, and loved to hide in your shotgun tunnels. We hardly had a chance to get to know each other.
And finally, Goodbye Tombstone.
The best map from Halo 1. I didn't know you very well either, but you felt the same as you did from Halo 1. You are an awesome map, creating some of the most intense CTF games I have played. I will always wonder what those images on your screens in the "control room" are, and what they mean. I really wish you had 2 snipers. I hope you come back to visit us in Halo 3.
Goodbye Halo 2 :(
