Shared on Mon, 04/21/2008 - 23:06...can you tell what I'm blogging about now? :)
Level 43 in Mass Effect (yes, I've played THAT much) and I think I got a good enough grasp on the game to review it. It's freaking awesome. The fights tend to be slightly frantic, but so did KOTOR (done by Bioware also). All in all, I love the freaking game. My biggest "now that's nice" moment, was when I noticed they brought up your dialog options several seconds before the character finished talking, it gave you time to complete a seamless response. It was really nice. The game has kept my attention with a good story and worthwhile gameplay. It is kind of frustrating whenever you get taken out by a Geth Rocket launcher, because they're almost an instant kill if you're not careful. That sucks.
All in all, the game is really worth it, especially if you're looking for something new. I picked it up cause I was really getting tired of FPSs. I am normally a very calm player. Very calm, whatever happens is whatever happens. But bout two weeks ago, I was playing against a friend and chunked my controller over something petty, and caused my first scratch on my pretty Army Green xbox 360 controller.
Most of you are saying probably saying "big whoop, i've thrown many a controller" and truth is, I used to do the same with my NES controllers (methinks there is a pattern). But I don't like doing that. Games are supposed to be fun. How is it fun when you chuck controllers hard enough to cause 2nd grade concussions? that isn't fun to me, that's either an attitude problem or an inferiority complex. I've met some real cool people over the years (some on here too) that take gaming at face level, if they win or lose whatever. It's disappoint...but they don't get to the point of throwing stuff. Whenever I get that angry at a game, it goes on the shelf for awhile.
I'm just saying.
I also picked up the Iron Man demo from the marketplace. GOOD FREAKING GRIEF! I want this game yesterday! The graphics are phenomenal, the gameplay was good as well. the flight controls take getting used to, and you don't really feel like you're flying very fast, but it's still awesome to be flying in the sky one second and then be on the ground one second laying punch after punch into a tank. Classic Iron Man. Pardon me for my geek-out, but Iron Man is my favorite superhero (as stated in previous blogs) of all time. Knowing that a movie is coming out for him is bad enough. Knowing that game is coming out the same day as his movie....that's cause for a celebratory geek dance. Look away while I execute such.....LOOK AWAY.
Ok, you can look back. I'm acting goofy tonight, I know. I'm finally caught up on computer repair work and almost all my side stuff. I have a video to create tomorrow and have my picture taken for our church directory....WOOT! I'm almost caught up at work as well. I will be alot happier when I am.
Anyhoo, have a good week all. The Jericho Files are below, read and be addicted like someone else is :)
