Shared on Thu, 05/08/2008 - 11:12I had to get my car fixed today, so I just took the whole day off. I needed some time to just chill and think through my next week anyway. I got alot of stuff coming up. While I waited on my car to be fixed, I went ahead and began work on Jericho Files #5.5. (typing on a ipod touch isn't as bad as you think, it actually was right nice and was able to finish half the story while listening to some Pink Floyd. So it should be done soon)
I came home today and noticed the blue light on my Wii was on. Turned it on and downloaded the Nintendo Channel.
This is a pretty nice service. It connects you to a database of videos that talk about upcoming games for the Wii and other Wii related stuff. The nice part is the "Recommendations" section, you can go in and see a list of upcoming games for both the Wii and DS and check out information for those games. If they have demo videos, you can easily go to them. You are also given the option to order the game from the Wii itself using The Internet Channel!
I must say, this is a thumbs up from me for Nintendo. I love the fact that XBL has demos of stuff (it made me want to buy Iron Man and Bioshock). So I hope they upgrade it to include demos soon (but they'd have to upgrade the memory to do that). But it's nice to be able to see how a game plays before you actually buy it. Saves you the hassle of a wasted rental too. It's nice to see that Nintendo is finally "getting there". They also have Demos for the DS available for download. So all in all it's a really nice service. i'm looking forward to seeing what they come out with soon.
